Parkview is a 39-minute drive (off-peak) from Auckland central, via State Highway 16. The new neighbourhood is located opposite Rautawhiri Park on Rautawhiri Road, Helensville.

Parkview is situated on gently sloping land and can boast a wonderfully green outlook, with grandstand views of Rautawhiri Park, bush and farmland in the distance. It’s only a 20-minute walk from Helensville Village.

So much to do

Parkview is close to surf beaches, Kaipara Harbour, mountain biking and horse trekking trails, mineral hot springs (with hydro slides), and Rautawhiri Park and sportsgrounds. Rautawhiri Park alone has much to offer with a dog exercise area, a skate and scooter park, brand new exercise equipment, tennis and netball courts, soccer and rugby fields, and a two-kilometre pathway tracing the outskirts of the park (perfect for walking or running a few laps). The nearby Woodhill Forest Park also deserves a special mention. To be found there are more than 100 kilometres of purposebuilt mountain biking tracks and jumps, plus walking and horse trekking trails, and a high ropes course.

You really don’t have to go far to find fun and to see nature at its best. It’s a bountiful part of the country too and only, for example, a 20-minute drive from Kumeu township, renowned for being one of the country’s viticulture hubs. We’ll drink to that, and the many wonderful things to do in Parkview and near surrounds.

Location is key

Helensville township serves this area well, and Albany and the suburban centres of Westgate and Northwest are all close by.

It’s quite likely the temptation will be there to spend the bulk of your time in your Auckland North community, but if shows, sporting events and shopping malls beckon, it’s comforting to know central Auckland is an easy commute away. Motorway developments mean Auckland CBD is only a 40-minute (off peak) drive away, and there are park and ride facilities for commuters too. Auckland airport is less than an hour’s commute.
