12 Franklin Road, Paparoa, Kaipara, Northland, 0571, New Zealand
Many old buildings in Paparoa’s Franklin Road have stood the test of time. The Franklin Masonic Lodge is absolutely one of them!
Back in 1906 it was decided by a small group of gentleman that they should build their own lodge as the meeting hall rather than trapse down to Helensville for their meetings by boat or horse and cart, which took four days!
So an idea was born. After purchasing a portion of land, the building of the Masonic Lodge was underway. Meetings were well attended and gave the gentleman camaraderie and they provided years of dedicated work supporting needy families.
So steeped in history lies this magnificent building. Vaulted ceilings throughout, this space is expansive to say the least. The entryway now consists of a new modern bathroom with wet room shower, freestanding bath and toilet.
As we enter through to the great hall – the space will blow your mind!
Three bedrooms have been partially constructed with two of them having wardrobes installed. Original Kauri Flooring and all the joinery is original Kauri as well. Four heat pumps throughout offers warmth to the new home owner. What would you do with this space? The options are limitless.
The living and dining area has been lined and the floors polished ready for you to make your own mark.
The Kitchen, keeping within the scale of the home is generously sized and offers plenty of cabinetry.
A master bedroom offers built in wardrobes and again beautiful polished flooring.
Outside we have a large shed big enough to house the boat and the added benefit of work benches running along side. The section is easy care, low maintenance and has just been metaled. It is very much a blank canvas for the new buyer to paint their own picture.
Located in the heart of Paparoa, a lovely little community that has a Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning. A very short 10 minute drive to Pahi where you can launch the boat and go fishing for the day.
