There are vast nearby coral reefs (King Reef) and many lush tropical islands

 

(Barnard Islands).

 

The renowned Family Islands, 12 in all, including Dunk and celebrity-hosting Bedarra, are a little to the south.

 

The Clump Point Boating Harbour and the Mission Beach Tourist Village are literally a few minutes away.
