7 Howland St, North Mackay QLD 4740, Australia
Mr Rogers built the house to withstand a cyclone and made it as solid as possible, he hand made every brick used on site using river pebbles and extra strong concrete. Some of the other creations of Mr Rodgers are still working like new at the house like the water pressure strut used to open the large shed door, just plug in the hose and turn the pressure on to see the large heavy door open like magic. The house was built up higher than the surrounding blocks, which would explain when in the big floods of 2008 there was no water that penetrated under the house where the street was full.
The upstairs area has been totally refurbished with new lights, fans, kitchen, bathroom, air conditioners, robes, polished Mackay Cedar hardwood floors and painted. The downstairs area has been started with gyprock to most walls, new toilet and shower.
